This is a clonal stock raised from plants originally discovered by Norman Stevens on Mount Halkis - the one in Turkey, not the one in Greece, some years ago.
It is smaller in stature than the dutch hybrid Reticulata forms and thus it makes a smaller bulb, (5cm diameter rather than 6cm). The growth is also slightly more slender. The flowers are a lovely rich blue with much deeper blades of almost navy blue, the whole set off with a vivid yellow crest.
A very good plant, for out in the garden, well-drained in full sun.
