Fritillaria minuta

For years known as "the brick-red frit" this is a 1960’s introduction from Lake Van in Turkey.

It makes quite dwarf stems with glossy bright green foliage and soft orange-red flowers faintly lined with yellow.

Likes deep planting (10cm) in humus rich soils and needs no summer rest.
