Arum dioscoridis spectabile

This is the familiar name for the largest, darkest, showiest form. Green spathes with confluent smooth velvety jet-black blotches inside and a black spadix.

Sunny, well-drained site. This has been raised from one tuber, a rogue in Dracunculus vulgaris.
